Netball Tournament
What a wonderful sight it was to see so many children enjoying themselves playing sport! After 2 long years of very limited sporting events, Tuesday 18th of October 2022, will hopefully act as a catalyst for many more amazing events to be held over the rest if the academic year.
St. Annes and Thameside came together for an enthralling afternoon of netball. 3 teams were involved, St. Annes blue, St. Annes orange and Thameside.
The first match was the 2 St. Annes' teams facing eachother in a cagey battle. After a slow start, St. Annes blue started to dominate possession, with nets/goals flying in from Yosef(year 3), helping Blue complete a comfortable victory over the St. Annes' oranges 2-0.
In the second game, Thameside made their first appearance in the event, playing St. Annes' blue, who were very confident after their first win. St. Annes raced into a 4-0 lead thanks to nets/goals from Yosef, Moyed, Matthias and Ava. After starting slowly and learning to the rules, Thameside made it a very even game and towards the end were the better team but unfortunately couldn't find the net, with the game ending 4-0.
The final game was really even affair, with St. Annes' orange playing Thameside. Both teams played some amazing netball, some excellent defense from both teams killing off some awesome attacking play. In the ed Thameside were just too strong, winning the games after some really impressive shooting.
An excellent afternoon had by children, parents and staff alike. Lets see what the year 5 and 6 Hockey on Thursday has in store for us.

Hockey Tournament
How lucky were we? God must have heard our prayers at lunchtime! After all that rain, we had 2 hours of glorious sunshine shining down on us as we had a historic hockey tournament, the first one to be held at our uniquely special school.
On an afternoon full of great hockey skills, smiles on faces and cheering parents, 6 teams fought it out to see who would be the inaugural winners of St. Anne's hockey tournament.
Caversham primary, Thameside and us, each with 2 teams each played 5 games each. Goals rained in across the matches, add that to some great teamwork displayed and compassion for the opposition in defeat and you have a sight to behold.
In the end, Caversham Primary A won the overall title with some excellent play and some astonishing finishing. Even though Our teams finished 4th and 5th, they all seemed to go home with massive smiles on their faces, very much looking forward to trying to make the team for the next tournament.
