Mini Vinnies- Society of St Vincent de Paul

We are proud to have established a ‘Mini Vinnies’ group at St Anne's!
‘Mini Vinnies’ are children aged between 7 to 11 who, with the permission of their parents and the support of their Schools, are encouraged to embark on their first steps as possible ‘Vincentians for life’.
Those wishing to become a Mini Vinnie are invited to apply in school and state how they would carry out good deeds in the community.
Mini Vinnies is about doing good works in the community. The Vinnies model of ‘See, Think, Do’ is a great way to get young people thinking and talking about their spirituality; by connecting their beliefs and values with service activities and issues in their community, they can help to make their faith real, meaningful and relevant.
‘Our Mini Vinnies’ group will meet once a month afterschool and are always busy planning on how they can reach out to the people in need in our community!

Welcome to our new Mini Vinnies Conference Members!
Congratulations to our newly elected President is Aria, Vice President is Deon, Secretary is Maddie, Treasurer is Gauravi and the Communications Officer is Roli ! We are thrilled to have such dedicated individuals stepping into these important roles. Their commitment to our school community and passion for making a positive impact will undoubtedly lead us toward new and exciting initiatives.
Mrs Banks, a member from the St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVP) recently presented badges to them, recognising their roles and responsibilities within our community, along with the One World Council.
They shared a Mini Vinnies assembly that engaged our pupils and highlighted important themes, and they also helped with refreshments after Mass, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our families and school community.
We look forward to seeing their leadership in action and the valuable contributions they will make to enhance the experiences of our pupils and families.

First Charity Fundraiser
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported our recent Mini Vinnies fundraiser. The children visited the church and sold Christmas cards as part of their effort. Thanks to your generosity, we raised an impressive £65.50. This contribution will go directly toward the Make-A-Wish charity, helping to bring joy to those in need.
The Mini Vinnies are proud to continue our mission of helping others, and your support makes this possible. We couldn’t do it without you—thank you for being part of this effort!
St Anne's children attended a special Mass to celebrate Mother’s Day. At the end of the Mass, the children lovingly handed out flowers as a token of gratitude, filling the church with smiles and warmth. It was a beautiful and heartfelt moment, reminding everyone of the love and care that mothers give every day. Thank you to Mrs Tobin for coming along to Mass and supporting the children and a special thanks go to Mrs Ryan (SVP) for supporting the children and providing the flowers!
The Mini Vinnies organised a special Charity Day on Monday, 17th March, to support Father Hudson’s Care, a charity that provides vital outreach work to children, young people, and families facing challenges. To raise funds for this important cause, all children were invited to participate in a non-uniform day by wearing something green—whether it was a green T-shirt, sweatshirt, socks, or even green face paint! We kindly asked for a donation of £1 or more on ParentPay, with every contribution helping to make a meaningful difference. We are pleased to share that the school raised an incredible £180 for this worthy cause. Thank you for your generous support!
The Mini Vinnies had a meeting to discuss what charity they could support this Lent. They decided that they would like to support Father Hudson's Charity by holding a whole school non-uniform day on 17th March (St Patrick's Day). They also thought it would be a good idea if the children tried to wear something green if they can. Also discussed, was supporting CAFOD and the children talked about walking each Friday at lunch time to participate in the Big Walk for Lent. Our parish is also having a Big Walk for Lent on 8th March which anyone is welcome to join. Details of this walk can be found on the parish website and on our board near the school entrance. The children recieved prayer books to give to each class in school that the SVP had kindly purchased as a thank you for the Mini Vinnies hard work and dedication to helping others!
