Mother's Day Surprise Room - Friday 18th March

Surprise room

The Mother's Day Surprise Room is back again this year to give the children an opportunity to buy a surprise gift for their hard-working mum/grandmother/carer.

There will be a selection of gifts to choose from, priced at £2, £2.50 and £3 (maximum 1 gift per child). If you would like your child to participate, they need to bring their money in a NAMED envelope or purse to school on Friday 18th March. (Please do not give your child loose money as it makes it hard to keep track of how much money each child has and it often gets lost). The class teacher will bring the children to the Surprise Room where we will be on hand to help them choose a gift. Thank you for your support!

Second Hand Uniform Sale - Friday 1st April

We will be selling second hand uniform in the playground after school – great condition but bargain prices! We’ll have the summer uniform items out because children can wear either winter uniform or summer uniform in summer term 1. Make sure you’ve got all the bits you need! There will also be a few brand new items and book bags available for the usual RRP, and St Anne’s coats at a reduced price.

The Book Bank

In September we re-launched our Book Bank campaign. Some of you may remember the Book Bank from last year – books are such a vital resource and always in demand, so this will be one of our recurring campaigns.

This year, the school wants to use the money raised by the Book Bank to ensure that our library is more reflective of our school community and the world around us. They will be buying books which are relevant to promoting diversity and inclusion, including texts by diverse authors and inclusive of a diverse range of characters. In particular, they wish to update the school’s texts to include authentic characters from marginalised backgrounds and texts by authors and illustrators from marginalised backgrounds.

They also want to involve the Year 6 Reading Leaders in choosing some new books for the library, thereby targeting more closely the children's interests and building their love of reading. The leaders will also share these books with other children through the Book Club.

To support the Book Bank, all you need to do is go to justgiving.com/campaign/thebookbank and make a donation. Please help us reach our target of £250 by donating whatever you can afford to this very worthwhile cause and by sharing this with family or friends who might like to donate. Let's get St Anne's reading!
