Small group KS2 Literacy Teacher

0.3 FTE – 3 mornings a week (preferably Monday, Tuesday, Wedneday), fixed term contract running from September 2021-July 2022

Salary – MPS pro rata

We are currently seeking an exciting KS2 teacher to join our enthusiastic team who – working alongside our HLTA - will plan, deliver, mark and assess literacy for small groups of children in Year 3/4 and Year 5/6.  The post will suit a qualified KS2 teacher with experience of teaching children who find literacy challenging.

The successful candidate will …

  • Be highly committed, enthusiastic, skilled and passionate about literacy
  • Have the ability to excite and engage children
  • Have an up to date knowledge of children’s authors
  • Have an up to date knowledge of the KS2 literacy curriculum and year group expectations
  • Meet all aspects of the Teacher Standards
  • Manage pupil behaviour effectively
  • Have excellent communication skills – both verbally and in written form
  • Show initiative and work independently and as part of a team
